A few weeks ago, I finished my illustrated story, “The Undine Prince”, the first of seven gender-bend princess stories. I want my plots to follow the original fairy tales, but the personalities of the characters and physical designs have Disney references.
I wanted to keep the theme of “not belonging in either world.” The “mermaid” here, much like Disney’s Ariel, is artsy and romantic, so his brothers consider him a wimp. As a result, he longs to live in the human world he fantasizes about. He cuts his tongue out and sews his mouth shut, relinquishing his power over the sea to live on land.
Please leave me a note or comment if you would like to purchase a copy of the book ($20 USD, $25 international) or a copy with an original drawing ($80 USD, $85 international). The print run is limited to 77 signed, numbered copies: only 30 regular editions and 3 sketch editions remain.
This picture is a drawing of the princess that the mermaid falls in love with. The original was included as the exclusive sketch with book 01. (Click through to larger version on deviantART!)

Last year, at Sakuracon, I shared a hotel room with Zetallis, and she told me that her friend might not be able to make it because she was undergoing dialysis - where they take your blood, clean if for you, and put it back in. That friend was Neolucky.
I’ve been on DA for over eight years, and although I never met her in person, Neolucky has helped out out many good friends of mine. For the past year, she has been getting treatment for late stage renal failure - that is, when your kidneys altogether stop working. If she gets this transplant, she can have a much better future. The Internet has a way of coming together and saving peoples’ lives. So I urge you to look at HelpHopeLive, the site above which provides a legitimate means for supporting Nicole.
Please re-blog. <3
I’ve already dropped some money in, but just to sweeten the pot - if you re-blog this (not just “like” but actually re-blog), I will enter you for a raffle for one of:
So yes - five possible prizes you can win. If you want, I’ll sign your prize. Winners announced 12.5.2011 Get it? Got it? Good.
